Gallus gallus domesticus
WHERE IS IN THE PARK
Over the centuries and all over the world, hundreds of chicken varieties have been developed and selected, many of which are completely distinct from each other.
The chickens are gregarious birds. In the flock some hens will exercise control over the others, establishing a precise “pecking order”, according to which some have priority in the food access and in the choice of nesting locations.
Adding chickens, especially youngest birds, to an existing flock can lead to violence and injury.
